Gandhiji by his innovative and creative lifestyle has given youth tips to build a peaceful world. As a first step towards the introduction of a Gandhian lifestlye, an open book exam will be conducted by Gandhi Peace Foundation on relevant pages of Gandhiji’s autobiography.

The details :

1. Students from Stds. VI to XII may register with the Principal by paying a fee of Rs. 100 along with details of name, class, medium (English or Tamil) in which the student wishes to write the exam.

2. They will receive a copy of a book An Autobiography – My experiments with Truth and an explorative questionnaire.

3. The students wil be expected to read relevant portions of the book, relate it to their life, and answer.

4. All students who send the answer scripts will get a certificate and the three toppers in the State will get cash prizes of Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1000.

5. Schools enrolling not less than 100 students will get three cash awards of Rs. 500, Rs. 300 and Rs. 200 for three school toppers.

6. Schedule : a. The fee collected should be sent by DD (drawn in favour of ‘Gandhi Peace Foundation’, Madras) to reach on or before July 10 2009.

b. The books will reach the institution on or before

August 10.

c. The answer scripts must reach us on or before

September 10.

d. The certificates and prizes will be sent to schools on or before October 10.

e. Schools must retain ten per cent (Rs. 10 per student) of the fee collected for postal and other expenses.
