Just a sip : Is it safe?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has promised the people of his State that “safe bottled water” would be provided from August 15. “We, in Andhra Pradesh, are very keen to supply bottled drinking water to all habitations — urban and rural. We have a very good network of women’s groups and we want to involve them in running this,” he said. The bottling plant is to be set up with an initial investment of Rs. two lakh to ensure five litres of safe drinking water for each person in a habitat with 1,000 families. And 50 to 60 per cent of the villages in the State are expected to be covered within a year.
