Eva Mary Koch Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Perambalur
As part of ‘World Environment Day’, a special programme was organised under the auspices of the Perambalur District Branch of Indian Red Cross Society at Eva Mary Koch Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Perambalur, recently. Students planted saplings of various shade-giving and fruit-bearing species at the school premises. Teachers and students planted the saplings. The Principal, Padmavathy, administered a pledge on environmental protection to the students on the occasion. The state co-ordinator of the society, P. Selvendran, the district honorary secretary of the society, I. Cicil Ignatius, and the district co-ordinator of the society, P. Lamuriya, were among those who spoke. They emphasised the importance of planting saplings to check the ills of global warming.
