Deadly manoeuvres: At the camp
Jetix Action League –an initiative by Jetix to promote action adventure entertainment- was held early this year in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. The tournament engaged students between ages 7-14 years in a game play which involved teamwork along with physical and mental skills. Hyderabad witnessed the sports day with the Jetix twist at the Nizam College Grounds at Basheerbagh.
Coveted prize
The best part was the prize - a chance to experience the Jetix superhero life at a 2-day camp and Alkapuri Modern School walked away with the coveted prize. The setting of the adventure was at an altitude of over 5500 feet above sea level, in the luscious green mountains of Munnar.
At the camp, the 60 winners of JAL from the three cities got to live the superhero life. They stayed in commando tents and participated in team and individual activities that put the mental, physical and team-playing skills of the kids to test.
Adventure sports
“We played a lot of new games like flying fox and spider’s web. ,” says Ankur of Alkapuri Modern School. While activities like spider’s web and knotty put the mental skills and presence of mind of the kids to test, adventure sports like flying fox, commando bridge and trekking tested the physical fitness and agility. “It was a lot of fun. After dinner, there was also campfire, singing and dancing, and it was a perfect end to a fun day,” says Naveen. The event was aimed at promoting healthy living as well as teamwork and camaraderie among kids.
