Fun-filled fest

It was a display of talent at the four-day cultural show in which students of all ages participated.

Folk dances and thematic skits marked the four-day cultural programme organised by Dr. G.S. Kalyanasundaram Matric H.S. School, Mayiladuthurai.

Kindergarten and primary class kids stole the show on the first day of the Kids Fest. Under the theme “sun”, the students came up with skits and dance shows that were related to the topic.

Annual day

School chairman G. K. Ramamurthy presided over the event. The second day marked the VIII annual day of the school, which witnessed performances by students from Stds. III to XII.

Ramamurthy presided over and Principal of Swami Dayananda College of Arts and Science, Manjakudi, was the chief guest. Principal Eswari presented the annual report.

Songs, thematic dances and skits were presented by the students and the best performers in music, dance and scouts were awarded with prizes.

The mega cultural programme “Avathara Purusharum Aranerigalum” was the highlight of the cultural series. The retired Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, K.E.B. Rangarajan, and retired professor of Tamil Seethalakshmi Arts College for Women, Pallathur, Saraswathy, were the chief guests on the third and fourth days respectively.

Over 800 students took part on both the days. There was a 90-minute dance drama and a host of song and dance performances. Tamil teacher N. Vijayalakshmi spoke.

Meena Rajagopal, trustee member of G.R.K. Foundation, and school correspondent S. Vijayaraghavan spoke.
