Ehsan Jafri's widow fights PM Modi in 'final' court battle over Gujarat riots

76-year-old Zakia Jafri has begun what may be the last legal battle to pin blame on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for deadly riots that shook the state of Gujarat when he was chief minister, and claimed her husband's life. Zakia’s late husband Ahsan Jafri, a Congress leader, was hacked to death by a mob in riots that killed at least 1,000 people. Hers is the last case still in the court system filed after the riots that tries to implicate Modi. Jafri's two-storey house situated in Ahmedabad's Gulberg Society was a prime target of the violence where 69 Muslim residents were massacred.
