School principal brutally thrashed by Nalanda locals, dies

Death of two DPS students, found in a ditch, triggers violent protests by locals.

A school principal was brutally thrashed by an angry mob, following the recovery of the bodies of two students from a ditch in Bihar's Nalanda district. The school principal succumbed to his injuries while being treated at the Patna Medical College and Hospital. A post-mortem will be carried out on the body to ascertain exact cause of the principal's death. Two students of DPS were found dead on Sunday in Bihar’s Nalanda district, triggering protests by locals who vandalized vehicles and brutally thrashed the school principal. The bodies of the deceased students were hauled out from a water-filled ditch near Nirpur village located close to the school.

Following the incident, the atmosphere is tense in Hilsa area of Nalanda. Security has been tightened to avoid any further clash.
