Was part of a six member militant group of the Lashkar-e-Taiba
SRINAGAR: Nearly a week after people handed over a militant, who hurled a grenade at a mosque in Pulwama , people from Gulgam village in Kupwara handed over another militant, a Pakistani national, to the police.
Saqib Aziz (27) of Multan was part of a six member militant group of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, confronted by security forces in the same village two days ago. "Three militants were killed in the ensuing encounter and Saqib was injured and managed to escape" Shahid Meraj, ASP Kupwara told The Hindu . "He approached a civilian in Gulgam and sought help for medical treatment and was later handed over to the police," he said adding that it was a courageous step on the part of the locals to hand him over.
