NEW DELHI: The two-month-long ban on television channel AXN has been lifted 15 days ahead of schedule and it will go on air from March 1.

The ban was imposed in mid-January after the channel refused to heed warnings of the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry regarding its serialised programme titled

``The World's Sexiest Advertisement.''

Though the ban was to be in place till March 15, the Ministry is learnt to have relaxed its earlier order in view of the apology tendered by the channel.

The channel is part of the Sony bouquet of channels.
