Two Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested and several fake documents were seized from them at Sonamura along the India-Bangladesh border in West Tripura district on Friday.
On a tipoff, the police raided a house in the area and nabbed Mahmud Roni, who hails from Comilla district in Bangladesh. On the information given by him, they picked up Mamud Ahmed, another Bangladeshi national, in the locality. Forged voter's identity card and passport were seized from them.
They used fake names to obtain ATM cards of India's nationalised banks. The police said they recovered one laptop and a map of Bangladesh and some documents from their possession.
An investigation has been launched, police said. —PTI
