Youzhny triumphs

Mikhail Youzhny, on Sunday, became the first Russian in almost two decades to win the Swiss Open as he defeated Robin Haase 6-3, 6-4 in the final.

Youzhny, now 5-0 over his Dutch opponent, was the first Russian since Yevgeny Kafelnikov in 1995 to lift the trophy at the mountain clay event.

Meanwhile, top seed John Isner fired 21 aces to advance to the ATP Atlanta Open final by defeating Australian seventh seed Lleyton Hewitt 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(5). — Agencies
