BANGALORE: Young Muslims and Jupiter SC will fight it out for the Jagadishwarachar memorial football title for ‘B’ division teams.
In the semifinals at the Football Stadium here on Monday, Young Muslims downed Queen Star 2-1 while Jupiter defeated Universal FC 4-2.
Queen Star, thanks to a Punith strike in the 11th minute, was sitting pretty at half-time but two goals in four minutes put Young Muslims in the final.
Nixon levelled the score with a penalty conversion in the 44th minute and Zamzei scored the match-winner four minutes later.
In the other semifinal too, Jupiter was a goal down before hitting back.
D. Raja put Universal in the lead with a 16th-minute strike, but Murali (26th), Sanath (31st and 49th) and Ramesh Babu (51st) gave Jupiter a healthy 4-1 lead.
Sunil reduced the margin for Universal with a 57th-minute goal. There will be no match on Tuesday. The final is slated for Wednesday. — Special Correspondent
