The Southern Railway Sports Association will organise the all-India Railway weightlifting championship at the Nehru Stadium from January 28 to 30.
Top lifters who will be seen in action include Vinoth Kumar, Satish Kumar, (S. Rly), Gurjeet Singh (N. Rly) Christopher and Senthamil Selven (C. Rly), Omkar Othari, Himanshu Kumar Chang (W. Rly) in the men’s section.
Minathi (ER), Swathi Singh and Shrishti Singh (NER) will be among the prominent names in the women’s section. In all, around 100 lifters will be participating in this event. The Indian Railways weightlifting team will be selected based on the performance here for the national in Nagpur in March.

Mani (MCC) beat Mohammed Khalid (TNBSA) 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the TNBSA junior Republic Day Cup snooker event.
