Jaypee Punjab Warriors ended the league phase on a disappointing note, losing 2-3 to Delhi Waveriders in the Hero Hockey India League here on Tuesday. Warriors, who have already sealed their place in the semifinals, lost their second home game in two days.

For Waveriders, unbeaten in the tournament, Rupinder Pal Singh scored with a drag flick before Oscar Deecke and Lloyd Norris-Jones scored a goal each. Dharamveer Singh (17th) and Christopher Ciriello (70th) reduced the margin.

Rhinos bounce back

Meanwhile on Monday, Justin Reid Ross struck twice as Ranchi Rhinos came back from a two-goal deficit to down the Warriors 3-2.

The result: Delhi Waveriders 3 (Rupinder Pal Singh 7, Oskar Deecke 11, Lloyd Norris-Jones 23) bt Jaypee Punjab Warriors 2 (Dharamveer Singh 17, Christopher Ciriello 70).
