Ameya Walawalkar clinched the second race in the Formula LGB Swift class in the fifth round of the JK Tyre-FMSCI National racing championship at MMRT in Irungattukottai on Sunday.
Late on Saturday evening, Walawalkar was disqualified in the first race (he finished second) following a technical infringement. Sandeep Kumar, who came third, was penalised 30 seconds and slid to eight place.
Subsequently, Chittesh Mandody moved up to second spot while Akhil Devrag completed the podium.
Two-in-a-row for Leela
In the Indian Touring Cars category, N. Leela Krishnan made it two victories in-a-row this weekend even as V. Rajvirdhan and Siddharth Kishore did an encore of their performances on Saturday, finishing second and third respectively.
The Indian Junior Touring Cars section saw Diljith Shah bag the second race.
Feroze Khan, who sealed the second spot, was later disqualified from both races after his car failed a technical scrutiny.
The sixth and final round of the Championship will be held on November 26 and 27 in Noida.
