Vijil Viswambharan hit 74 and Athul Raveendran took three wickets as Edapally’s St. George HSS crushed Elamakkara’s Government HSS by 113 runs and entered the semifinal of the Paragon Stimulus Swantons Cup all-Kerala schools cricket tournament at the Sacred Heart College ground, Thevara, on Monday.

In another quarterfinal, K.R. Akshay’s allround performance (33 and three for 31) helped Eroor’s Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir defeat Choice School, Tripunithura, by 13 runs. The Choice’s P. Jose took five wickets for seven runs but it was in vain.

The scores (quarterfinals): St. George HSS, Edapally 181 for three in 25 overs (Vijil Viswambharan 74, Amal Rajeev 52) bt Govt High School, Elamakkara 68 in 25 overs (Athul Raveendran three for 25).

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor 119 in 21.4 overs (K.R. Akshay 33, P. Jose five for 7) bt Choice PS, Tripunithra 106 for seven in 25 overs (Joseph Jose 31, K.R. Akshay three for 31).
