Fifth seed Vignesh Veerabadran of Tamil Nadu scored a hard fought 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over State-mate and third seed Vinod Sridhar and booked a place in the semifinals of the MARG-AITA men's ranking tennis tournament here on Thursday.
Vinod was off to a bright start and took the first set easily. Vignesh found his rhythm in the second set and hit some lovely winners. He broke Vinod in the third and fifth games to level the match at one set all.
In the decider, Vignesh forced Vinod into long rallies and waited for the third seed to make errors. After taking a 2-0 lead, Vignesh never looked back.
