VIJAYAWADA: Vamsi Krishna’s unbeaten century for President’s XI against Secretary’s XI was the highlight of the three-day ACA U-14 selection match that ended in a draw at the RDT Sports Village, Anantapur, according to information reaching here on Saturday.

The scores: President’s XI 194 and 243 in 117.1 overs (Vamsi Krishna 100 n.o., Tejeswar 41, Kesava Kumar four for 24) drew with Secretary’s XI 285.

Rajeev, Salman shine

Andhra XI made 310 in 82 overs against Kerala XI in the three-day U-16 practice match at the Siddhartha Medical College grounds here on Saturday.

Andhra’s K. Rajeev (83) and Kerala’s Salman Sebastian (four for 55) hogged the limelight. Kerala XI was eight for one at stumps on day one.

The scores: Andhra XI 310 in 82 overs (K. Rajeev 83, K. Krishnababu 59, Salman Sebastian four for 55) vs. Kerala XI eight for one in six overs.

ASN College triumphs

Tenali’s ASN College won the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate handball tournament for women that concluded here on Saturday, by topping the table with six points. Siddhartha Mahaila Kalasala finished second with four points.

The results: ASN College bt Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala 13-5; Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala bt JMJ College 18-4; ASN College bt KLCE 10-2; JMJ College bt KLCE 15-6.

Chess tournament

Vijayawada’s Global Chess Academy is organising a rapid chess tournament at the Sarvani Towers, Navodaya Colony near Siddhartha Arts College on October 5.
