India and South Africa will play the final of the under-19 quadrangular series at the ACA-VDCA stadium here on Saturday. The final should be an interesting encounter with both teams having won one and lost the other in the two round-robin encounters

Australia meanwhile plays Zimbabwe in the third place match at the Port stadium.

Rains that lashed the city since Thursday, forcing abandonment of the last of the round-robin matches, have stopped and Friday was a sunny day.

But the teams could not have nets on Friday because the outfield at ACA-VDCA stadium B ground is still wet. Another reason for the nets being cancelled was the bandh being observed in the city due to the state re-organising protests.

The Andhra Cricket Association is taking additional precautions at both venues. Police, including the State’s Greyhounds and CISF, have been deployed at both venues and their numbers might be more for Saturday’s matches, ACA’s vice-president G.J.J. Raju said. — Special Correspondent
