Tyagi’s knock puts Sporting in final

A match-winning unbeaten 103 by Rahul Tyagi helped Sporting Cricket Club book a spot in the final of the 24th All-India Om Nath Sood memorial cricket tournament.

Sporting beat former champion and last-year’s finalist Oil and Natural Gas Corporation by eight wickets.

Electing to bat, ONGC scored 246 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 40 overs, thanks mainly to Taruwar Kohli’s 127-ball 120. In reply, Sporting overhauled the target with one over to spare. Tyagi’s knock came in 101 balls and included 14 fours.

The scores: ONGC 246 for six in 40 overs (Taruwar Kohli 120, Nitish Rana 42) lost to Sporting Cricket Club 250 for two in 39 overs (Rahul Tyagi 103 not out, Punit Bisht 61, Shivam Sharma 41 not out).

Umang, Divesh take FCI to semifinals

Umang Sharma’s 75 and Divesh Khanna’s four-wicket haul helped FCI beat K.N. Colts by 25 runs and enter the semifinals of the 4th M.K. Group cricket tournament.

The scores: FCI 242 for eight in 40 overs (Umang Sharma 75, Rajesnder Bisht 45, Jaideep Chauhan 42; Shiva Yadav three for 41, Vinnet Sharma three for 42) bt KN Colts 217 all out in 38.4 overs (Sachin Hooda 44, Manoj Dagar 43; Divesh Khanna four for 33, Vinay Chaudhary three for 54).

IAF in quarterfinals

Man-of-the-match Raushan Raj took four wickets for just 18 runs while Ravi Chauhan and Rajat Paliwal scored half-centuries as Indian Air Force entered the quarterfinals of the 30th Laxman Das Chhabra memorial tournament, defeating Collage Group by six wickets.

The scores: Collage Group 151 in 38.4 overs (Kshitj Sharma 48, Manu Kumar 46; Raushan Raj four for 18, Abhishek Sakuja three for 31) lost to IAF 155 for four in 26.3 overs (Ravi Chauhan 53, Rajat Paliwal 52).
