BANGALORE: The new National women’s badminton champion Trupti Murgunde looks forward to some good performance on the international circuit this season.

“Now that I have won the Naitonal breaking my jinx, I would strive do well at the international meets and get to the next level,” said the 27-year old Trupti. Trupti, who attributed her success to a strong training and fitness regime after recovering from a back injury in 2008, rated her match against P.V. Sindhu, which took her to the quarterfinals, as the best tie that she played in Guwahati. “The final was easier than I expected, added Trupti.

After a taking a break in her home town Pune, Trupti will play in the SAF Games in Bangla Desh later this month and prepare for the European circuit in March. — Special Correspondent
