KOLKATA: Prabhat Kandir and Pranitha Vardhineni (recurve) and Palton Hansda (compound) moved into the final of the individual section of the ninth junior and third cadet world outdoor archery championship at Merida, Mexico.
According to information received here, the Indians also moved into the team championship semifinals in the compound junior women (vs Mexico) and recurve cadet men's (vs Turkey) sections.
Indian men's junior recurve team, silver medallist in the last Worlds, went out in the quarterfinals this time. Kandir would play in the recurve junior men's gold medal match against Romain Giroville of France while Pranitha would take on Jane Waller of Australia in the recurve cadet women's final. Palton Hansda would challenge Paul Tedford of the U.S. in the compound junior men's final. Pratima Bora also moved into the bronze medal match against Inna Stepanova of Russia in the recurve cadet women's section. Special Correspondent
