Coimbatore: N. Thirumurugan (91) and S.P. Saravanakumar (77 not out) made merry as PSG College of Arts and Science defeated SNR Sons College of Arts and Science by seven wickets and emerged champion of the first CDCA inter-collegiate cricket tournament here recently.

After restricting SNR Sons to 191 for eight, PSG scored the required runs with seven wickets to spare.

RKS lifts title

An unbeaten 96 (82b, 8x4) by the in-form Nandagopal enabled RKS Kalvi Nilayam HSS score a two-wicket win over Sri Jayendra Saraswathi MHSS in the final of the CDCA under-14 inter-school cricket tournament for the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis Trophy at the PSG Medical College grounds on Monday.

The scores: Final: Sri Jayendra 214 for six in 50 overs (Godwin Rubesh 75, K. Kishore 42) lost to RKS Kalvi Nilayam HSS 215 for eight in 38 overs (R. Nandagopal 96 not out, M. Vivek 31).
