BANGALORE: Thailand, the defending champion, asserted its superiority on day two with a five- stroke lead over India after the second round of the HP Asia Pacific junior golf championship at the Eagleton Golf Resort, near here on Friday. Poom Saksansin sparkled for Thailand with a four-under 68.

But the day clearly belonged to Chinese Taipei's 16-year-old Teng Kao, who carded a brilliant round of eight-under 64, playing in the individual category.

The Chinese Taipei girls' team continued to lead with a three-over for the tournament.

Indian boys hold the top three spots in Category C (11-12), with Piyush Sangwan leading the way, closely followed by Prakhar Asawa and Viraj Madappa.
