Bangalore: Thailand retained the girls' team title in the HP Asia Pacific junior golf championship at the Eagleton Golf Resort here on Saturday. In the final round, the Thai team enjoyed a four-under 68 from Pavarisa Yoktuan that gave the defending champion a one-stroke win over Chinese Taipei.

The round also gifted the individual title to Pavarisa at three-under 213. India's Gurbani Singh and Shreya Ghei finished tied for the ninth spot while the team finished third. On a perfect day for Thailand, the visitors' joy multiplied as Puwit Anupansuebsai scored a facile triumph in Category D (under-10) to reiterate his stature as one of the world's best in the junior ranks. The Thailand boys team enjoyed a 13-shot lead with just one final round remaining. The Indian hopes continued to thrive on Chikkarangappa as he took the lead in the individual boys' section with a tally of 12-under while being three shots ahead of Thailand's Poom Saksansin
