Easy for SAI

R. Mrithyunjayan (75), a former cricket umpire in the National panel, died on Thursday.
He had officiated in several important competitions like the Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy, apart from being a regular for the TNCA tournaments and league matches.
He umpired in two One-Day Internationals also, against the West Indies at Guwahati in 1983 and against England at Nagpur in 1985.
Mrithyunjayan was employed with the Integral Coach Factory.
The TNCA President, N. Srinivasan, and members of the TNCA, expressed their grief at the passing away of one of its senior umpires.
Sathyabama stuns SBI
Helped by good displays by John and Satish, Sathyabama defeated State Bank of India in a thrilling five-setter in the men’s section of the IOB-SRM senior volleyball championship at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Wednesday.
Sathyabama won 23-25, 25-22, 27-25, 23-25, 15-12. In the women’s section, St. Joseph’s continued its good showing, beating SDAT 25-13, 25-23.
