Bangalore: South was on the verge of victory after off-spinner Sunil Raju grabbed an unfinished match haul of 11 wickets to leave Central tottering in a Col. Hemu Adhikari Memorial NCA inter-academy tournament match at the RSI Ground here on Saturday.

On the third day, South gained a 246-run first innings lead after bowling out Central for 173 with Sunil scalping six wickets.

South enforced the follow-on and at close Central struggled at 163 for nine with Sunil snaring five wickets.

Central needs another 83 runs to avoid an innings defeat.

South 419 in 121.2 overs vs Central 173 in 57 overs (Sunil Raju six for 43) and 163 for nine in 57 overs (Pranay Sharma 40, Sunil Raju five for 61).

East 159 and 308 in 100.4 overs (S. Goswami 84) vs All India University 221 in 92 overs and 16 for no loss in 12 overs.
