BANGALORE: The Sunfeast World 10k Bangalore, the richest 10k run in the world, scheduled for a May 25 flag-off was announced at a glittering ceremony at the Windsor on Tuesday night

The $150,000 prize money event will have six races — the World Elite 10k for men and women, senior citizens’ run (4 kms), wheelchair event (4 kms), Open (10 kms run) and Majja run (5.7 kms).

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president, Suresh Kalmadi, who was present at the launch expressed hope that this 10k run would be as high profile event as both the Mumbai and Delhi events.Magician K.S. Ramesh unveiled the mascot ‘Sunny’, a smiling sun, from an empty box.

The ‘online’ registration for the various races are already open and entry forms will be available at the Manipal Cure & Careretail outlets, The Windsor Bengaluru, Standard Chartered Bank branches, Planet M and Nike outlets in Bangalore from March 28.

The entry fee is Rs. 200 for the World 10K elite runs, the Open 10 k run and the Majja run, while the senior citizens’ run and wheelchair event will cost Rs. 100.
