Stifling security at the Ferozeshah Kotla added to the woes of the photographers at work.
The entry point was restricted to just one gate which did not even lead to the nets. Repeated pleas by the photographers, carrying heavy equipment, the security and police had a terse response. “We don’t have the keys to the gate (nearest to the nets).”
Strangely, access to the field and the pitch was easy compared to getting to the nets.
“I have not come across such insensitive security men,” said an exasperated photographer, sweating even in this chilly weather.
Thanks to the security, the media was even denied water. The plastic bottles were said to be a threat.
Sadly, the media manager of the Delhi and District Cricket Association was of little help. — Principal Correspondent
