Chennai: St. Joseph’s College of Engineering underlined its superiority in collegiate athletics winning the titles for men and women in the Anna University inter-zone meet held at Kings College of Engineering, Thanjavur.

While the men’s team collected 162 points, the women gleaned 147.5 points.

St. Joseph’s also annexed the overall championship with a whopping tally of 309.5 points followed by Sethu Engineering College (Madurai) with 58 points.

TSN beats Sindhi

TSN College managed a three-wicket win over Sindhi College in the Quaid-E-Milleth inter-collegiate cricket tournament here.

The scores: SIVET 173 for six in 30 overs (K. Ram Kumar 70, Uday Kumar 40) bt New College 99 in 23.2 overs (Janki Raman three for 17, V. Vijay three for 18)

Sindhi College 115 in 25 overs (Ashok Kumar 31, Sundar Moorthy three for 22) lost to TSN College 121 for seven in 28.2 overs (I. Nazeer 25, R. Venkatesh 34 not out).

Sabeena-Reynold pair posts win

Sabeena Athica and Reynold beat Rajmohan and Suren by two pins in the doubles event of the Vasan Eye Care-Tamil Nadu State tenpin bowling championships here on Wednesday.

The results: Doubles: 1. Sabeena Athica and Reynold (2259 pins), 2. Rajmohan and Suren (2257), 3. Yusuf Shabbir and Jai Sabari (2208).

The star-studded VIP Matrix all-India snooker tournament begins in Chennai on Dec. 18.
