Gunuganti Sruta Kirti of Hyderabad moved into the girls' singles under-16 quarterfinals of the AITA National Series tennis tournament in Jassowal (Punjab) on Thursday, according to information received here.
Sruta shocked ninth-seeded Rajbit Kaur of Punjab 6-1, 6-1 in the pre-quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, she will take on Devanshi Bhimjiyani of Maharashtra.
The Hyderabad girl also combined with Saranya Nagpal, whom she partnered to win the CBSE Schools National doubles title in Dubai last week, to down the pair of Anupreet Bedi of Delhi and Shriya Kalia of Himachal Pradesh 4-2, 4-1 in the under-14 quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, the girls from Hyderabad s will meet the second-seeded pair of Himani Mor of Haryana and Jahnvi Gupta of Delhi.

At Mangalagiri (near Vijayawada), ACA Tigers XI was 118 for one in its second innings against ACA Lions XI at close of play on the second day of the four-day match among u-16 and 19 players on Thursday.
Earlier, resuming at five for no loss, ACA Lions was all out for 199 in 68.3 overs thus conceding a first innings lead of 123 runs.
