G. Sruta Kirti of Andhra Pradesh defeated Snehal. U. Mane of Maharahstra 6-2, 6-3 in the girls’ under-16 singles final of the National Series tennis tournament in Kavali (Nellore) on Saturday, according to information received here.
However, Sruta and her Statemate Teertha Iska Akshara lost in the doubles final to Snehal Mane and R. Sai Vanthika.
SBH moves up
State Bank of Hyderabad entered the quarterfinal of the A-Division one-day knock-out tournament with a 10-wicket win over Galaxy here.
The scores: Galaxy 136 (Indersekhar Reddy three for five) lost to SBH 139 for no loss (T. Suman 53 not out, Anirudh Singh 80 not out).

AP State chess
West Godavari District Chess Association will organize State chess championship on February 2 and 3 at Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Auditorium (Tadepalligudem) with a prize money of Rs. 25,000, according to a press release here.
This is a selection event for National team championship for men and women which will be held in Hyderabad from February 20 to 26.
