HYDERABAD: M. Srijitesh Swamy defeated Ponnala Siddarth 9-5 in the boys’ under-10 final of the Ganesh Raman Tennis Academy State sub-junior tennis tournament here on Tuesday.

In the girls’ final, Harshita Rao cruised past Saranya Nagpal 9-2 to bag the title.

AOC finishes third

AOC defeated Andhra Pradesh Police 1-0 in the play-off match for third place in the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy Challenge Cup prize money football tournament at Trimulgherry Village Grounds here on Tuesday.

The match-winner came in the 15th minute of the second half through Roleing off a pass from Arvind.

He was also given the best player prize of Rs. 1,000.

The date of the final will be announced later.

Microsoft won the inaugural Oligarchy corporate basketball tournament, sponsored by Y Axis, defeating HSBC 53-48 in the final after leading 29-21 at the breather.

Karthik, who was later adjudged ‘best player’ of the event, and former international Ravi Varma were the architects of Microsoft’s win. Dominic of HSBC was adjudged ‘most valuable player’ of the event.

Raju scalps six

A.K. Raju claimed six wickets as Naval Dockyard beat Cargo Handlers Pool by 12 runs in the VDCA institutions league on Tuesday.

Somesh claimed three wickets and scored 39 runs for the loser.
