Sri Lanka was bowled out for 208 after being put in by the West Indies in the opening match of the Tri-nation one-day series at Sabina Park here on Friday.
Skipper Angelo Mathews remained unbeaten on 55. Sunil Narine picked up four for 40 even as captain Dwayne Bravo chipped in with two and Ravi Rampaul claimed three wickets.
Mahela Jayawardena struck a run-a-ball 52, including seven boundaries.
Upul Tharanga (25 off 43 balls) and the experienced Kumar Sangakkara (17 off 23) got off to good starts but could not capitalise on them.
Dinesh Chandimal added 36 runs for the fourth wicket with Mathews, but was dismissed by Marlon Samuels for a 37-ball 21, an innings that included a six and two fours.
Even as the others got the wickets, Darren Sammy completed his quota of 10 overs giving away just 34 runs.
Sri Lanka needed a substantial partnership at that stage and it looked like they were moving in the right direction before Chandimal gave away his wicket.
Mathews was left stranded as the last six wickets fell for 68 runs. — PTI
