KOLKATA: Sporting Clube de Goa scored twice in the final 10 minutes to get past a spirited JCT Mills 4-2 in a group league encounter of the under-19 tournament for the I-League teams at the Mohun Bagan ground here on Tuesday.

In a see-saw battle, JCT moved ahead in the seventh minute through Maninder Singh. Sporting Clube found the equaliser in the 15th minute through Valzino Fernades before Pedro Gonsalves gave it a 2-1 lead at the half-hour mark.

Dilshan Ahmed brought JCT back into the game by scoring in the 65th minute (2-2). Sporting fought back as Pritam Singh and Stephen Barreto scored in the last 10 minutes.

Sporting Clube plays Bagan in the final league match to decide the finalist from the group.

In another match, Dempo scored the winner in injury time to pip host East Bengal 4-3 and brighten its final chances. East Bengal raced to a 3-0 lead in the first session with goals from Pankaj Moula (13th and 31 {+s} {+t}) and Biswajit Natta (29th).

Dempo pulled one back through Romeo Fernandez in the 37th minute and reduced the margin further when Jasua Vaz made it 3-2 in the 65th.

Terrence Fernandez drew level for Dempo in the 90th minute before Myron Fernendez found the winner in injury time. — Principal Correspondent
