South United FC will be the only representative from Karnataka in the 2012-13 season of the 2nd Division League, the second tier of Indian football, it emerged on Friday.
Although three teams had been nominated from the state, only one of them fulfilled the licensing norms, the KSFA President A.R. Khaleel stated.
“We had recommended South United FC, BEML-KGF Academy and HASC. However, BEML fulfilled only certain criteria but not all, despite having been informed. HASC did not meet any of the norms,” he said.
The AIFF released a list of 21 teams for the 2nd Division League on Friday, among which South United FC figuresSouth United, formed only last year, is currently placed second in the BDFA Super Division league. — Sports Reporter
