The Madras Motor Sports Club will conduct the AVT Premium South India Rally, the first round of the 2013 FMSCI Indian   National Rally Championship, from March 22 to 24.

The Clerk of the course is Manoj Dalal. A.V. Thomas Group is the title sponsor. The three-day event will see competitors drive their cars on three physical Special Stages and the Super Special Stage on the Madras Motor Race Track, where the National Racing events are conducted.

The total rally distance is about 300km — of which 117.5km will be extremely competitive. The Madras Motor Race Track at Irrungattukottai is the hub of this rally, and it will host the Service Park   as well as the   Rally HQ, besides one of the   three dirt track Stages (9km) and the (3.2km) Super Special Stage that will be run on the race circuit itself.

The other two physical Special Stages are located on the 700-acre Avisa Golf complex and the IVRCL premises, with distances of 17km and 11km.

Each of the Special Stages will be run twice on March 23 (Saturday) and once on March 24 (Sunday). Entry forms can be downloaded from— Special Correpondent
