: Kerala’s Sophia M. Joe bagged two gold medals, winning the women’s shot put and discus double, as the 18th National Games for the Deaf commenced at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Friday.
In the men’s basketball event, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Puducherry and Karnataka advanced to the semifinals. Tamil Nadu, which won all its preliminary matches, will face Odisha while the host will meet Puducherry.
