Six records were broken on the second day of the State junior and sub-junior aquatic meet here on Saturday.

For the second consecutive day, the host dominated the pool and boys once again outshone the girls by setting five of the records.

Ernakulam's Reeta Orison was the lone record breaker in the girls' section as she set a new mark in 100m freestyle (1:07.63s) in group II category.

V. Turbu of Ernakulam set his second record of the meet while winning the gold in back stroke event in the boys' group I category.

Turbu clocked 2:22.44 to improve his two-year-old mark (2:25.13).

The other record breakers in the boys' group I category were Nandu G. Nair (Thiruvananthapuram) in 50m breaststroke (0:33.78) and S.S. Visakh (Thiruvananthapuram) in 100m freestyle (0:57.19).

In group II category, A.S. Anand (Thiruvananthapuram) figured in the record books winning the 800m freestyle event in 9:30.14s.

Jebin J. Antony (Ernakulam) set a new mark in 200m back stroke with a timing of 2:33.22s. — Principal Correspondent
