KOLKATA: Eighth seed Shiuli Dasgupta created a major upset by eliminating the top seed Andrea Das 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the girls’ singles under-18 category of the Amust Calcutta hard court tennis championship at the South Club courts on Saturday.

Priyam Periwal gave a scare to third seed Tulana Nan before losing 6-3, 0-6, 7-6(3). Rain played a spoil-sport leaving the organiser with a heavy backlog of matches.
