Bangalore: Virender Sehwag, who missed the ICC World Twenty20 due to a shoulder injury, attended a rehabilitation stint at the National Cricket Academy for five days and left for Delhi on Saturday.
Sehwag had earlier reported to the academy on Tuesday and his fitness was monitored by the physical conditioning duo of Paul Close and Paul Chapman. Sehwag is expected to return to the NCA for another round of appraisal after a week.
The Delhi dasher had nursed a sore shoulder immediately after the conclusion of the recent Indian Premier League.
Sehwag had played all the 14 games for Delhi Daredevils and scored 356 runs. Sehwag had also missed the 2009 ICC World T20 in England due to a shoulder injury that he suffered during IPL season two in South Africa. — Principal Correspondent
