KOCHI: The ONGC Second Division National Football League kicks off in Goa on Friday with the Cluster I matches. The Cluster II series will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on March 5.

Twelve teams have been divided into two groups in the event with the top three from each cluster progressing to the final phase. The top two finishers of the final phase will progress to next season's premier NFL.

The final phase, which will also be a league affair, has also been allotted to Kerala and is likely to be held in Kochi, according to the Kerala Football Association secretary K.P. Sunny.

The teams: Cluster I (in Goa, from March 2 to 17): Vasco SC (Goa), Punjab Police, State Bank of Travancore (Thiruvananthapuram), ONGC (Mumbai), S.E. Central Railway (Chhattisgarh), Chirag United (Kolkata).

Cluster II (in Kochi, from March 5 to 20): Indian Bank (Chennai), Army XI (Bangalore), Salgaocar SC (Goa), Jammu & Kashmir Bank (Srinagar), Lajong SC (Shillong), Viva Kerala (Kochi). Principal Correspondent
