Indian football player M. Muhammed Rafi received the third V.P. Sathyan award during the annual Kerala Sportspersons Association (KESPA) function at the Integral Club (Ayanavaram) here on Sunday.

Rafi, who plays for Churchill Brothers in the I-League, received a cash award of Rs. 10,000.

K.J. Kapil Dev, Indian volleyball player, was also felicitated. Receiving the memento, Kapil said India should do well in the Asian Games as the team has had a lot of exposure trips abroad, which is bound to prove beneficial. “We hope to win medal in the Asian Games,” he said. — Special Correspondent
