: Dr. M. Sathiyaseelan, former Physical Education Director of Loyola College, who served the educational institution for 30-odd years, released his book ‘Redefining Sports Culture in Educational Institutions' at the college campus here on Saturday.
K. Vaithianathan, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, the chief guest for the function, said the book gives a lot of information on inter-university competitions, its advantages and disadvantages. Describing the book as original, W.I. Davaram, President, Tamil Nadu Athletics Association, said it should be renamed as ‘Defining Sports Culture in Educational Institutions.'
It is an elaborate and extensive book; an encyclopaedia on sports management and sports administration. Sheila Stephen, Principal, YMCA College of Physical Education, lauded Sathiyaseelan for the stupendous effort. “The book enhances and enriches the human capital especially the Physical Education Teachers. It will act as a guide to all PETs”, she said.
Peter Subbu Reddy, Regional Inspector of Physical Education, said Sathiyaseelan has used his experiences extremely well in writing this wonderful book. Anand Natarajan, former International athlete, praised the book's presentation, language and content. — Special Correspondent
