HYDERABAD: Saranya Nagpal is line for a double by entering the finals of the girls' under-12 and the under-14 category singles in the All India ranking tennis tournament at NVK Tennis Academy here on Thursday.

In the under-12 section, the top-seeded Saranya defeated fourth-seeded D. Lalitha 6-3, 6-2 to set up a title-clash with second-seeded Mansi Reddy who put it across an unseeded Raveena Reddy 6-2, 6-4.

Later, in the under-14 section, the third-seeded Saranya stunned top-seeded Raksha Bode 6-3, 6-2.

The results: semifinals: Girls: Under-12: Saranya Nagpal bt D. Lalitha 6-3, 6-2; Mansi Reddy bt Raveena Reddy 6-2, 6-4. Under-14: Saranya bt Raksha Bode 6-3, 6-2; Tara Ivanovic bt Mansi 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Boys: Under-12: P. Siddarth bt Apuroop Reddy 6-1, 6-2; M. Devanand bt Vikam Dhananjay 6-2, 6-3. Under-14: Aditya Gokahle bt Akash Balachander 6-2, 6-4; Yash Puri bt Sanjeet Gandhi 6-3, 6-2 .

Rahul's ton in vain

Rahul Ranout's unbeaten century (110) went in vain as R. Dayanand XI suffered a 155-run defeat at the hands of Evergreen in the A-Division (three-day) knock-out cricket tournament at Gymkhana Grounds .

The scores: Evergreen 363 & 182 for nine (Avinash Reddy 45, Nimeesh Reddy 39, Abhishek three for 33) bt R. Dayanand XI 201 & 189 for two (Rohit Reddy 35, Rahul Ranout 101 not out) .
