HYDERABAD: Right-out Santosh scored four goals, including a hat-trick, to fashion an impressive 7-0 win for St. Andrews School ‘A’ over Arrow International School in the Sachdev Cup inter-schools football tournament at Trimulgherry Village Grounds here on Wednesday.

The other scorers were left-in Manoj (2) and left-out Karthik (1).

Other results: St. Patrick’s bt Indus World School 6-0 (M. Ferdinand 2, Rakesh Kumar 2, Solomon 1, Joseph 1); St. Andrews ‘B’ 1 (Sandeep) drew with St. Joseph’s 1 (Medwin); Pallavi Model School drew with Govt Boys HS, Trimulgherry, 0-0.

Easy for St. Andrews

St. Andrews School scored easy wins in the boys’ and girls’ sections of the Rev. Fr. Devasia inter-schools chess tournament here.

The boys’ team defeated Brahmam Talent School while the girls put it across Holy Mary School.

Meridian School also recorded wins in the boys’ and girls’ sections against Holy Mary and Mount Carmel High School.

Ravi Teja scalps five

P.S. Ravi Teja (five for 13) helped Secretary’s XI restrict President’s XI to 102 in 77 overs in the three-day ACA u-14 selection match at ACA Stadium at Mangalagiri on Wednesday.

Secretary’s XI was 43 for no loss in 20 overs.

The scores: Secretary’s XI 214 and 43 for no loss vs President’s XI 102 (P.S. Ravi Teja five for 13, Saleem Baig three for three).

KLCE posts win

Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineeing defeated Hindu College, Machilipatnam, by 34 runs in the Acharya Nagajuna Univesity inter-colleigate tournament in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

In another match, JKC College, Guntur, beat Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada, by nine wickets.

The scores: KLCE 178 for seven in 35 overs (Vivekanand 53, Raja 45) bt Hindu College 144 in 35 overs (Bhima Rao 54).

ALC 71 in 28 overs lost to JKC Colege 71 for 1 in 15 overs.

Big win for SRR

SRR & CVR College defeated ANU College 37-10 in the league match of the Achaya Nagarjuna University netball tournament for men in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

Four teams — Sathavahana, SRR & CVR. ANU and JKC Colleges have entered the super league.

SMK triumphs

Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala won the Acharya Nagarjuna University handball women tournament topping the table in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

S.M. Kalasala beat ASN, Tenali 19-9. Earlier SMK defeated JMJ College of Tenali 20-2 and Sathavahana by 20-3 to top the table. ASN College of Tenali and Satavahana finished second and third respectively.
