Saina shocked

Saina Nehwal suffered a shock first round defeat in the Super Series Finals here on Wednesday.

The London Olympics bronze medallist, seeded fourth, lost to Denmark’s Tine Baun 14-21, 21-11, 19-21 in a 51-minute encounter.

After losing the first game, Saina battled back by taking the next 21-11. In a thrilling decider which went down to the wire, the Dane prevailed 21-19.
