THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Top seed Sai Krishna breezed into the quarterfinals in the boys’ under-19 section of the Thiruvananthapuram District badminton championships at the Techno Park club courts on Tuesday.
Form played true as Sai Krishna crushed Mohammed Arman 21-11, 21-3 in the pre-quarterfinals. Second seded V.N. Dhamush, third seeded Naveen and fourth seeded Ananth Krishnan also moved into the quarterfinals after winning their pre-quarterfinal matches without much fuss.
In the girls’ section, top seed Neethu Ninan, Soumya Ashok Divya and Malavika Mathen entered the semifinals.
The tournament, despite being staged far away from the city, attracted 240 entries against 120 received last year.
