Venkatesan's injury time goal helped Southern Railway hold SAI to a 2-2 draw in a St. Joseph's-CFA senior division league game here on Saturday.

Southern Railway was first off the blocks with a goal in the third minute. P.C. Riju seized a lob from Bharath in the midfield and slammed it home.

SAI equalised in the 16th minute when K. Venkatesan, off a pass from Rajarajan in the centre, fired a left-footer into the net. Fifteen minutes later, SAI made it 2-1 with K. Venkatesan scoring a brace. H. Ameeruddin delivered a pass to Venkatesan whose angular shot found the goal.

Just when it seemed that SAI had the match in the bag, Southern Railway restored parity in the first of five minutes of added time.

Venkatesan's kick from 35 yards reduced the SAI custodian to a mere onlooker. K. Venkatesan of SAI was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.
