A BDFA Super Division football match between Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) and MEG ended in a 1-1 draw here at the Football Stadium on Wednesday.

A cross from the right flank from Jiten found Nguerilal, who scored to give MEG the lead just before half-time.

Minutes after the interval, RWF struck through Deepu, and a point was split between the teams with no further goals in the match.

Other result: ‘A’ division: AGORC 2 (Muralidharan, Lokmon Singh) bt Bangalore Mars 1 (Stalin).

Three changes in squad

Karnataka has made three changes in its Ranji Trophy squad to face Vidarbha at Mysore from Saturday.

The trio of K. Gowtham, Ronit More and Karun Nair — part of the State under-25 team that lost to Saurashtra in the semifinals of the C.K. Nayudu Trophy on Wednesday — will take the places of S.L. Akshay, S.K. Moinuddin and K.B. Pawan. None of the latter three featured in the victory over Delhi here earlier this week and Karnataka, led by R. Vinay Kumar, will likely field an unchanged eleven.

ASC on top

ASC opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Karnataka Volley League table after defeating KSP on Wednesday. A.V. Arun and M.S. Sunil turned in fine performances as ASC won 25-21, 25-13, 25-19.
